Landen Trails in Cinti., OH offer urban relief

July 11, 1997 on 7:05 pm | In Mountain |

As you may have heard, we have a nice new MTB trail at the Landen Park in Warren county. This is a Warren County Park which is free and open to the public. The park is located on Montgomery Road about 5 miles north of the Fields Ertel Road exit from I-71.
The trail is 3.3 miles, 80% single track. Although we just opened in June, the trails are now very well packed, well marked and in great shape. There are two creek crossings which often have water up to 10 inches deep. Also there are some challenging hills and mid-range technical stuff which makes for a nice ride. It is mostly wooded and very attractive.

The best way to get there from Cincinnati is to take the Fields Ertel exit (exit 19) from I-71 (northbound) and turn right at the end of the exit ramp (Mason-Montgomery Road) To Montgomery Road (3rd light). Turn left on Montgomery Road (north) Montgomery Road is also identified as US 22 and 3 in that area) Continue north about 5 miles. After passing the Landen shopping center and Foleys on your left, the Landen-Deerfield park is about one more mile on your left, and the soccer fields and park entrance will be easily seen from Montgomery Road. Turn left into the park and take the park drive straight all the way to the rear of the park where you will see a shelter, trail map and “start” signs. The trail is well marked. -Bill Schroeder
