Giant Sequoias & rippin’ fast trail in CA.

August 1, 2005 on 4:48 pm | In Mountain |

Our family rolled into California, with one thing on our mind, big trees! We exitted 1-70 just past Truckee, got onta CA Scenic Rt. 20 and continued west. The ladies it was time for a stop. We decided to roll down a bit gravel & found ourselves surrounded by some enormous trees. And right there, was a trailhead & map showing that we had just rolled into a sweet trail system called ‘Skillman’.

We did what any starving cycling family who’d just crossed the country would do, we went riding!

The trails were dusty a covered with beautiful wildflowers. Our bikes were entertained by the banked turns and super fun drops and root jumps. Our minds & eyes were bewildered by the massive Giant Sequoias all along the ridge.

Some 3-hours later, we rolled back to our van, and finally ate our lunch. And it was good.
